Las Vegas & Zappos
Likely most of you will have learnt that I and the family are off to Vegas for a well earned break - well I thought no harm in killing two birds with one stone - I'm dropping in on a company (Zappos) that in 8 years have gone from zero turnover to $1 billion and largely from the promotion of their culture using predominantly social media.
Zappos first came to my attention 6 months ago when I heard Tony Hsieh (their CEO) speak. They essentially sell shoes online. The entire company irrespective of distribution or Board Member are centred around providing the best possible service - whilst that sounds great in theory in practical terms it's a real challenge. They see themselves as a service company that happen to sell products.
Their Ten core values are thus:

6. Build open and honest relationships with communication
7. Build a positive team and family spirit

Aside from my own interest in Zappos I wish to pick up some of their pixie dust and hopefully share and learn from each other.
Additionally Digital Face has just picked up a new client: Ethics Girls, which is essentially an online store with magazine and an agenda to propogate all that is good and great about ethically produced product... so hey give us 8 years and we'll see what we can do here!
